It is well when one is judging a friend to remember that he is judging you with the same God-like and superior impartiality.

Coincidence...?
I firmly believe that everything happens for a resason. . .call it ecclesiastical if you would? While commuting to work today I found $50.00 at the edge of the curb. I immediately looked around (no, not to quickly put my new found wealth in my pant pocket) but to see if there was anyone close enought that might have dropped it. There wasn't. So I put the money in my pocket.
Just before 9:00 am, I opend my morning paper (and by coincidence I opened) to the horoscope section. My horoscope read....

If you suddenly find more money at your disposal, Pisces, be careful of squandering it on this, that or anything else that grabs your attention. Instead, squirrel extra dollars away in a savings account. Before you know it, a sizable amount will have grown. Saving for a rainy day is all-important now and for the future.
I'm not certain what I'll do with my new found wealth. Perhaps pay it forward...'to do the most good' for someone else?

Boys Will Be Boys?
The "Choking Game," a type of asphyxiation that's popular among adolecents for the euphoric rush it provides, has killed at least 82 children since 1995 and the number is rising.

Men, Women, and Relationships
The official New York City condom has a different look and a sexy new slogan: New Yorkers are being encouraged to "Get Some" today, Valentines Day. Street teams will be handing out the free condoms at busy hubs around the city today, including Times Square, Wall Street, Union Square (on 14th Street just 2 blocks east of NY Temple corps and DHQ), and City Hall.
And ad campaigns on television, radio, subways and buses will begin, featuring the "Get Some" catchphrase. "We want to give away as many condoms as people will use because we're trying to make New York City an even safer place to have sex, and this is a powerful way to do it," said Monica Sweeney, the Health Department's assistant commissioner for HIV prevention control.
In contrast to the above campaign, I am reminded of a message T-Shirt I saw this past summer. It said...

Progress
I heard on the Today Show this morning that by the year 2050, Minority groups will out number the majority of whites in America, with the Latino population leading the way. At that time America will resemble the California. While hearing this, the song, "They shall come from the east, they shall come from the west and sit down in the kingdon of God" came to my mind.
May it be so

Success, Fortune, Failure, and Misfortune
A man listed as one of the state's most dangerous sex offenders has won $10 million in the Massachusetts lottery, but the attention may have landed hin in new trouble.
Daniel Snay had been living in Massachusetts since 2004. But his story caught the attention of police in Connecticut, where Snay had lived for several years. Officials said, he never informed authorities he was moving out of state.
Connecticut Trooper William Tate said Snay could face up to 5 years in prison if convicted of failing to notify authorities of his change of address, a felony.

Life's Passages
To me, the Church is equivalent to that of a hospital. It's where sick/hurting people go to find healing. It's also a great place to receive a check-up for the mind, heart, body and soul.

The Human Condition
Working in a hospital I see and hear things that cause my heart to ache. John Doe (name changed) yelled out, "I feel like I don't belong." He suffers from a major depressive disorder (single epis un). I pray that John will receive the help he needs from the Great Physician.

The Courage to Be Yourself
It's not the honors and the prizes and the fancy outsides of life that ultimately nourish my soul. It's the knowing that I can be trusted, that I never have to fear the truth, that the bedrock of my very being is firm. Hallelujah! what a Saviour.
